As you can see the from the bid history, the difference with the next high bidder is less than an increment (£5), meaning my max has been reached. And I won't raise it, as this already seems horribly expensive to me !
I don't expect to win, though. The current level of US dollar may discourage american bidders (over $400), but from an european point of view, we're still around the current estimated value (£220-£250) So another UK bidder should appear at the end, or maybe even more than one.
But, who knows... The THIRD so called first print since the beginning of the year is on ebay right now, so maybe people will let a "3rd print' go, after all.
Yes, three 1st prints, two including the black folder, in three months. And there are people who would still accept to pay $800 for this

Why don't you raise your bid a little? Why did harami bid anyway. How many of these has he got? The answer is: He always bids on auctions of "high profile" items, just to make sure they don't go for less.
The bidding pattern of certain bidders is surely weird. Here is mbassoc who praises the snipe, yet he pushed up the high bid. And I will never ever understand the bidding "strategy" of John Huckerby. _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

At least, my analysis was correct, he's from UK...
I gave a look at his bidding history, I must say I'm a bit disappointed by my opponent
I wish he had chosen another auction to try his first high bid !
And for mbassoc, harami and johnhuck, I think they all already have a PoVQ, and all had the same idea when they bid : keep the sale at a level they deem "appropriate". I don't really blame them for that.
Just, as my max bid was known, after killjoy did retract, I consider the £220 from David was not very fair play...
There were two books of shamans (Little Soldier) on ebay recently. I won the first one for $40.99, but nevertheless bid $40 on the second, so David had to pay $41 to win, because of me. We have irregular contacts, and he mailed me about that. I suppose it was some kind of revenge

I had a major clash with David Witts recently on the Acaeum forums. I'm sure you noticed. I have several reasons not to like him and his bid on the POTVQ speaks for itself, I think. But that's only for the record - I would not want to delve further into this issue.
The reason why I moved this threat is because I did not want to alienate Huckerby or mbassoc, should they ever visit here. I have never had an issue with them. We even asked Huckerby if he wanted to contribute to this website, but he said he would not have the time.
Funny how they "protect" the value of those items by keeping them over a certain limit. As you noted, the POTVQ is not that rare (it is rare, but not very rare). I wonder how long can they keep it that way? _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

I noticed.
The problem with items like PotVQ is that they can disappear from auctions for monthes. Usually, that's enough to boost the prices again...
I'm curious to see if the reserve will be met on the 1st print. I've just put a bid on it. It's free anyway, because of the reserve, and now I look like a serious collector...
The only difference between the 3 first prints being the folder/cover and the number of double-sided pages, I'd LOVE to know why the 3rd print is evaluated $325 less than the others...

This is true. Some checks and balances are healthy for the hobby for sure.
4th and later prints are far more rare than the earlier printings in my opinion. Rarely have I seen them up for sale except for may 4 or 5 times. I have comparitively seen about 2 dozen earlier ones for sale.
When you guys move a topic from forum to forum it might be good to delete the shadow thread in the old forum.

Maybe you've read the (temporary) conclusion on PotVQ in the Acaeum thread. I'm glad to see that the top collectors around here, after months of study, and comparing multiple copies of every known printings of PotVQ, draw the same conclusion than me after a couple of minutes using common sense...
I'm not bragging, I just regret, once more, that some collectors think with their money and not their brain.
