======================================

This copy was purchased directly from the author.

From back cover..."Fluffy, beloved pet of the realm of missing. The only one who can save her from the clutches of the sinister Phantom is YOU!"

Sounds gripping. Laughing

From Designer's Notes page 2....."Fluffy Quest was born in the Spring of 1981 as an alternative to those campaigns whose goal was accumulation of power instead of fun. After extensive Playtesting, the original version made the rounds of some major conventions, where it was greeted enthusiastically. This year saw the birth of Fluffy Quest II, another journey into the absurb. Once again, those who had a chance to play this second Quest, responded wholeheartedly. This volume you now hold in your hands is the best from Fluffy Quest I and II as well as new material. The Quests were set up for five to six players of fifth plateaus of accomplishments. You may run this with any size group you deem manageable, but a few words of caution. If you use fewer than six players, try to use magicians and holy men if possible, as these will be the most fun for your players. Try to avoid characters of high plateaus as this could upset the balance of the game. The Creatures and Magic in Fluggy Quest are all original. (see separate sections for details).
I hope you enjoy reading, running and playing Fluffy Quest. If you have any comments, cudos, criticisms, questions or ideas of your own for future Quests, please feel free to wreite me at:

Rick Reed
PO Box 389
Camanche, Iowa 52730

Remember the key word here is fun. The more you have running Fluffy Quest, the mroe fun your players will have. Dont be afraid to get as crazy as you want. After all, that's what were here for.

Rick Reed and Fluffy."

More sampling of contents as I am guessing these two printings featured so far have identical contents.....
page 3 Welcome to the Quest
page 4 Introduction
page 15-18 centerspread map printing on one side. Presumedly removable from the center.
page 31 Revised Magical Objects

On the cover..."A Generic Adventure for Fantasy Role Playing Systems"

Included in the contents of the game is a suggested definition for gaming statistics. Numeration is identical to Dungeons and Dragons only the name is altered to avoid copyright infringement. There is no combat system included.

Keep in mind Fluffy Quest was played at more than one Gen Cons which were owned and produced by TSR who aggressively defended their intellectual property.

I vote to keep in nonTSR/Generic department.

The white cover listed above is identical in all the points you mentioned. On the title page, "Copyright" is misspelled "Copywrite." The rear cover contains a teaser followed by "Fluffly Quest The Special Edition" with description. Cover is textured cardstock and is signed by the author inside. On page 30 the Shenanigan spell is misspelled.

Since this is a farce adventure, spelling errors may be intentional.

Again, all points are identical. For all intents and purposes, I believe he decided to add artwork to the cover and that is the only probable difference between copies. I would best guess that yours is the first print and mine is the second with no real way to prove otherwise.

I thought as much. We'll have to wait until someone in the know can say for certain which one came first.
