As near a fantasy masterpiece as anything I own. Always love looking at it. The wifey is jealous of the female in the picture and lets it be known occasionally!

The Mire is from the PLANESCAPE product "In the Cage: A Guide to Sigil", p. 104 and depicts a "Hive Ward Ooze Puddle".
Ruppel's comment on The Mire: "This was a little more loose in execution than some of my other work, but I was happy with the exaggeration in the drawing. The 'life quality' is what can turn illustration into art."

I could use a bit of help locating the source of this image. It is interesting the wide variety of sizes Robh works in. This one is small. Of the 5 Ruppels that I own they all range from small to medium to very large. Most artists usually stay in a familiar range with their works.[/img]
I doubt this one is a PLANESCAPE interior. It's called "Armies of conflict". Ruppel: "Think about the beginning and ending of each brushstroke. Paint it in your mind first, visualize it on the canvas, then fill it in." _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

Where did you find those comments by Robh?
There is a trading card set (90 cards) from FGP. It's quite common and should be easy to locate on eBay. Each card his this kind of comments on the back. FPG made trading card sets for other TSR artists, too. _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.
